Fall Into Family Portraits With Portrait Innovations
Pictures of your family is something every parent LOVES, however trying to capture the perfect picture of two wild boys 5 and under is nearly impossible! As a mom, I’ve honestly been slacking in the picture department. I only have a (very small) handful of professional pictures of my kids. Actually, only one set of my 20 month old. I always have the greatest intentions to have pictures taken, but lets be honest, in the grand scheme of things there is to do in the world, having pictures taken would be on the end of the list for small boys (my husband isn’t too keen on it either). When I got the opportunity to have professional photos done with Portrait Innovations, I knew it was fate!
I checked out the Portrait Innovations website to get some ideas about their style and what would work best for my family. We are HUGE football fans and with the season just starting, I knew I wanted to capture some quality Fan photos in our jerseys. Plus, with Fall’s arrival, its a great time to take family photos.
Appointments are recommended but not require, however they are incredibly easy to make. Simply go online and schedule an appointment in minutes! About a week before our appointment, I received a call from our photographer, Danielle, who gave me an overview of the appointment and some great tips on things to bring for our pictures!
I had a bag of goodies for picture day, including additional outfits, shoes, and a photograph. Of course the boys fell asleep on our way to the studio, so both were very shy and reserved upon arrival. We met Danielle and Nicole, who showed us around the studio and pointed out the changing room (which was PERFECT) and the photo areas. The first 10 minutes of our session, my 5 year old didn’t want to do ANYTHING but sit with his back to the camera on my lap. My 20 month old basically stood with one hand on his neck and the other rubbing his head. At this point, I was cringing and remembering why we dont have professional portraits. Danielle and Nicole weren’t phased and their patience was through the roof! They grabbed some toys, kept talking to the boys and eventually got my five year old turned around (and laughing) and made friends with my 20 month old. Our shoot quickly went from “oh no” to “first in show”.
All of a sudden we were taking all kind of pictures! My boys were posing together, standing individually, it was just amazing! The best part was being in a studio and not having to worry about one kid running for the hills (literally- especially if you’re on location somewhere). Everyone was contained to the area, but could run freely between shots. The girls were absolutely INCREDIBLE with their flexibility. Danielle knew the vision I had for our photos and not only captured them, but also improvised by going with the flow of the kids. If one of the boys grabbed something, she went with it and somehow incorporated it in the photo to look like it was meant to be there.
Our Fall Football FANatic photos came out incredible! You can’t even tell there were footballs flying, boys running, and pumpkins falling behind the scenes!
Once the boys had hit their max, Danielle took the opportunity to focus on some of the maternity photos I was hoping to capture (Stay tuned for more on my maternity shoot). Nicole brought the boys over to a Lego table and let them play while we finished up.
Overall, the photos came out remarkable and we were able to take home all of our moments the same day! After the shoot, I sat with Danielle to go through the packages available and pick our favorite photos. There are so many package options that you’re sure to find the best match for your price range! Plus, I’m all set for Christmas and birthday gifts thanks to the variety of personalized products Portrait Innovations has available!
Our next professional photos will definitely be stress free with Portrait Innovations!
