Swimming and Shopping to Support Team USA in The Olympic Games

We love cheering on Team USA and watching the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as a family. My boys watch in amazement as the best in the world compete for a gold medal. On the other hand, my husband and I watch in disbelief that many of the competitors are children, and not only representing their country, but pursuing their dreams.
The Olympic Games this year has been extra inspirational, as my soon-to-be 6 year old, just learned how to swim. Watching Team USA swim in heat after heat poured a level of confidence and motivation into my son that I had no idea even existed. It was amazing to watch the determination on his face as he headed to the pool and decided he was going to dive into the deep end. Jump after jump my son gained more certainty and worked to perfect his dive. Now we watch this athletic little boy, who always loved being a swimmer, but has developed a new motivation for swimming. Thanks to the Olympic Games, he can see that when you work hard dreams can become a reality.

As our little guy continues to practice his pool time, we support him with encouragement and praise. Its truly amazing to see a boy that was using a flotation device at the beginning of the season, go to diving off a diving board and fearlessly entering deep water. Our excitement and pride in his accomplishments shine through in every clap and cheer as he enters the pool… he reciprocates with a smile and glimmer in eye that one day he too may be at the Olympic Games!
