Stay Connected to Home With Xfinity

The day before I gave birth to baby girl, I did what every expecting mother does- head to CT’s Home of Distinction to hang with Sarah Cody (from Fox Connecticut and Mommy Minute), some awesome #XfinityMoms, and learn about the cool new tech Xfinity has to offer! Granted I didn’t KNOW Princess would come 24 hours later, but I have to give Xfinity some credit. Hearing about the new awesome features could have been the motivation for baby girl to come see what all the buzz was about!

We had a top notch team from Comcast who reviewed the features of Xfinity X1, Xfinity Mobile Apps, and Xfinity Home. Being an Xfinity customer was definitely a huge bonus because it was literally like I was getting my own personal training. I always thought the platform was very user friendly, but I didn’t realize how many features I was missing! Here are some of the highlights and my favs from what I learned about how to stay connected to home with Xfinity:

Xfinity X1

The Xfinity X1 Entertainment operating system is basically like having the space station in your house- only cooler because it doesn’t require you to be a rocket scientist. There are so many incredible features that I didn’t even realize were at my fingertips.

One of my favorite (which is no surprise as a mom of now 3) is Kid Zone. Kid Zone is a safe and secure way for kids to access their favorite shows and discover new ones! You can always be in control of what your kids watch and even set parameters based on age. One of my favorite features within the Kid Zone is when appropriate programming is on a channel- like HBO- your child will have access to that channel, however once the program concludes, they will no longer be able to access that channel. So when The Polar Express is playing and 50 Shades of Grey is immediately following, I don’t have to worry about my five year old asking if vanilla sex is a type of ice cream. Thank You Kid Zone!

Stay Connected to Home With XfinityOne of the coolest features is the new VOICE controlled remote control. Simply say any show, artist, actor, command, etc.. and BAM! you have it! As you’re playing around with your new voice controlled remote control say “Shake It Off” and check out what happens!

Xfinity Mobile Apps

The Xfinity Mobile Apps are available for Android and iOS. You can gain access to your account, TV, and WiFi. My favorite app feature is the ability to access your X1 DVR! Log in to the app to view your X1 DVR recordings and schedule the recording of your shows! Plus you can download content right to your device so you can watch when you are not connected to Wi-Fi! Those 15 hour car rides to visit family just got much easier!

Xfinity Home

Comcast’s home security system allows you to stay connected with your home, even when you’re not there!  The Xfinity Home offers home security, control, and energy management that allows you to stay connected to home, even when you’re not there! Turn lights on or off, adjust your thermostat, or check the cameras to make sure kids are doing their homework, all from the web portal or touch screen console.

There are different packages available- all at very reasonable prices- so you can select the best package based on the needs of your home and family.

It was such a fun day learning about all of the new awesome Xfinity Features, and eating lunch with the Xfinity group at the Home of Distinction was quite the treat (the picture perfect kitchen would leave anyone who ever had to host a holiday in awe)! Plus I was able to keep the voice controlled remote control which meant Christmas came early for me and I have a new toy- and 100% control over the TV.. SCORE!

What is your favorite Xfinity feature?

*I was invited to this awesome event by Comcast and ThisMamaLoves and was given a gift bag for attendance, but all opinions are my own*
