Spring sports are in full swing for our family, which means quick and easy meals are all the rage. Our schedules are super hectic, but eating healthy is still a major priority. This season as we’re running between games and practices, we decided to choose healthy eating with Weight Watchers® and Walmart.
The past weekend was baseball Opening Day for our boys. We kicked off the day bright and early with a parade, then marched off to a day filled with games. After being at the baseball fields for what seemed like an eternity, the thought of going home to cook dinner made me want to take a nap. We decided to make a quick trip to Walmart and let Weight Watchers drive our dinner plans.
Whether you’re embarking on a weight loss journey or just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, Weight Watchers offers healthy eating options that can benefit everyone in the family without sacrificing flavors. Plus, Weight Watchers products are conveniently located at your nearest Walmart retailer, making shopping for those healthy ingredients easier than ever!
Flatbreads and sandwiches were on the menu for dinner so we picked up some Flatout® Flatbread and Arnold® Sandwich Thins rolls. Since the boys did so well, I wanted to surprise them with a special treat. The JOLLY TIME® Healthy Pop® Popcorn and Weight Watchers Giant Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Bars were perfect for an easy, yet tasty dessert we could all enjoy.
I love the versatility of the Flatout® Flatbread endorsed by Weight Watchers and with just a handful of ingredients, I can create healthy, lavish meals with very little effort. Here was my top flatbread recipe after a full day of baseball.
Flatout Tomato and Arugula Flatbread
- 1 Rustic Italian Flatout Flatbread
- 1/2 cup grape tomatoes sliced
- 1 Tbsp feta cheese
- 1/2 cup arugula
- 1/2 medium apple or pear sliced (optional)
- 1.5 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place flatbread on a cookie sheet. Bake for two minutes. Slice grape tomatoes in quarters and sauté in 1/2 tbsp olive oil. Whisk together oil and vinegar in separate bowl. Remove flatbread from oven; top with tomatoes, apple/pear, feta, and arugula then drizzle with balsamic mixture.
If you are currently utilizing the new Freestyle™ program with zero Points® foods, you know how Weight Watchers® products make choosing what you eat so much easier. It gives you smart options and flexibility to enjoy more delicious recipes and foods, while still helping you reach your goals! We opt for Arnold® Sandwich Thins rolls endorsed by Weight Watchers® for all of our sandwiches. Not only is it an excellent source of fiber but in multiple varieties like Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat, Flax & Fiber, its perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
I was psyched to snag the Weight Watchers Giant Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Bars from Walmart. They’re made from low-fat milk and individually wrapped to offer portion control. Plus they offer lower SmartPoints® values at 2-4 SmartPoints per serving, versus regular ice cream and other frozen novelties. Just in time for ice cream season!
Our healthy eating habits won’t be affected by crazy baseball schedules thanks to Weight Watchers and Walmart!
