Fall Football Family Traditions

Football Sunday’s have always been a fall tradition in my family. When I was growing up we always had a huge Sunday dinner and watched our favorite teams on TV. Everyone gathered together at the house for some hot food and fun times.

Now that I have a family of my own, my love for football is just as strong, and our football tradition has continued! On game day, we all suit up in our Pittsburgh Steelers team jerseys and have our terrible towels ready to go. If it’s a night game, not too worry…. my sons each have sets of Pittsburgh Steelers pajamas.

Our tradition of watching football stays strong throughout the season and has evolved from just the standard Sunday. We watch the game whether the Steelers are playing on a Sunday, Monday, or Thursday. Supporting the team is very important no matter what time they play! Plus we still get our football fill in on Saturday, watching the college games!

It’s pretty much a given, from the beginning of September through the beginning of February, we are a football family through and through. Now that our boys are getting more into the game, our home tends to be the gathering spot for our football traditions, which of course includes, super bowl sunday! It’s the perfect time to gather with family and friends to cheer on your team and break bread! Our meals always include the standard hot wings, boneless tenders, and of course in an Italian family- macaroni and meatballs. We do try to switch things up by incorporating chili, soups, and other crock pot items, but you can incorporate any kind of meal into your Sunday Football tradition!
